In the Kitchen...
Cooking/Baking

The love of baking was passed down to me from my mom. It all started
with her making bundt cakes on a regular basis for us. In addition,
whenever she would have to make something for a potluck or to bring
to somebody's home, she would always make a dessert. My sister and I
reaped the benefits from this because she always made us a mini-
version of whatever she was making.

Our favorite cakes were:

I added some more to the repertoire:

Even though my mom had moments where she would cook when we
were growing up, I think I picked up this interest on my own
(considering we were mostly raised on going out to restaurants ;-) ).

Some of my favorite things to make are:

  • Chicken Saltimbocca
  • Pasta Bolognese
  • Honey-Soy Marinated Flank Steak
  • Chicken Marsala
  • Black Bean-Mango Salsa
  • Greek Orzo Pasta Salad
  • Succotash Salad
  • Artichoke Bruschetta
  • Zucchini Carpaccio
  • Brown Sugar-Glazed Sweet Potato Wedges
  • Potato Pudding (aka Potato Kugel)
  • Matzo Balls
  • Chicken Enchilada Casserole

I also get many recipes from different magazines I subscribe to and
different websites that I look at. Below is a list of my sources....
